Article 3.9.001
Participation in the UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships
All riders aged 35 and over holding a masters licence are entitled to take part in the UCI Track Cycling Masters World Championships, with the following exceptions:
1. Any rider who has been a member of any UCI registered track team in the current season. The season is the period referred to in the second paragraph of article 3.3.003.
2. Any rider who has taken part in a World Championship, the Olympic Games, continental championships, regional games or a Nations Cup in the current year, with the exception of events for masters.

Article 3.9.002
Licences
All candidates for the UCI Masters Track World Championships must present a valid licence at the event headquarters in order to be allocated a race number and to be authorised to take part. The licence must have been issued by the rider's UCI-affiliated national federation and be valid for a full calendar year.

Article 3.9.003
At events other than the UCI Masters Track World Championships, riders may participate with a temporary or daily licence issued by their national federation. The licence must clearly indicate the start and end dates of its period of validity. The national federation shall ensure that the holder of a temporary licence benefits, for the duration of the licence, from the same insurance cover and other advantages as those attached to an annual licence.

Article 3.9.004
Riders taking part in the UCI Masters Track World Championships shall represent their country, but shall be authorised to wear the equipment of their choice.

Article 3.9.005
All details specific to each UCI Masters Track World Championship in each category must be obtained from the organiser or on the competition website. The events on the competition programme will be defined by the UCI.

Article 3.9.006
The Masters World Championships are normally organised in five (5) year age groups: 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, etc. Depending on the number of participants per age group, the latter may be grouped with an age category adjacent to the category in question. In this case, a separate ranking will be established.

No particular event will be organised for an age group if there are fewer than twelve riders for mass events (e.g. points race) or fewer than eight riders/teams for other events.
For team events, a majority of the riders must be of the same age as the age category group. A maximum of one rider per team may be older than the age group.

Article 3.9.007
Best performances
The UCI shall draw up a list of the best masters performances achieved in the time trial, 200 metres, individual pursuit and in the hour for all men's and women's age groups.

Article 3.9.008
The best performances achieved at the UCI Masters Track World Championships must be reported to the UCI using the masters application form. The following documents must accompany the application: proof of electronic or manual timing; the place, date and nature of the competition; the result of the event in which the performance was established. The application must be countersigned by a UCI commissaire appointed for the event in question.

Article 3.9.009
The best performances established during a masters competition must be announced to the UCI using a masters application form. The following documents must accompany the application: doping control form; proof of electronic or manual timing; the place, date and nature of the competition; the result of the event in which the performance was established. The application must be countersigned by a UCI commissaire appointed for the event in question.

Article 3.9.010
Out-of-competition best performances (e.g. best performance in an hour) must also be reported to the UCI using an application form. The following documents must accompany the application: doping control form; proof of electronic or manual timing; place, date and nature of the performance. The form must be countersigned by a UCI commissaire who witnessed the performance.

Article 3.9.011
The best performances are homologated by the UCI.

Article 3.9.012
For the rest (in particular for questions relating to doping, see section 14), the world records regulations shall apply (chapter V).
